Heating mica in advance at high temperatures removes the minute moisture contained within it and has the effect of volatilizing and burning off impurities.

This is mica that has been pre-fired at high temperatures. By removing moisture from the mica, it prevents the moisture inside from escaping and foaming during compounding at high temperatures.
